Scare Fest 2009
Cassidy went to the Scare Fest Film Festival for the first time this past weekend. Scare Fest is held in Lexington Kentucky, at the Lexington Convention center. It is the largest paranormal and horror convention in the region.

After attending her first middle school dance, Cassidy went to the 2nd annual Scare Fest Weenie Roast, hosted by Claude and Tonia Miles. They are friends of ours in the local indie film industry and wonderful people to hang out with. This party was attended by many in the local film industry, including Feathered Italian Films, Jason Crowe, "uncle" TJ Moreschi, Jennifer Convery and Roni Jonah, Greg Brock of Silver Chain Films, Jerry Williams of Goatboy films, "Uncle" Cherokee Hall from Justus League Films, Actor Russ Croley, Infernal Dreams and so many more we can't list them all.

After the weenie roast, we checked into the Hyatt where we were rooming with our friends Kayla Perkins, another local actress and model, and her mom Michelle, and Alex del Monacco, Playboy model and star of Thong Girl, and her husband Tristan, ex UFC Fighter, who we all lovingly call Poppy.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early for Cassidy to set up her networking table. Before things got going, she was talking to the host of the event, David Fultz, about how her goal was to meet Danielle Harris and have her sign the clown mask Cassidy wore in our Halloween Fan Film. At that moment, Danielle walked right by our table. David Fultz stopped her and introduced himself and then Cassidy to Danielle. Danielle very graciously posed for pictures with Cassidy and signed the clown mask.

Cassidy spent the rest of the day Saturday networking and meeting people. Check out her pictures in her gallery to see everyone she met this weekend. She got everyone to sign her mask, and was even interviewed by The Travel Channel, who was there all weekend filming. A representative from Frozen Mercury Productions stopped by Cassidy's table to say hello. She had met them previously at Fright Night in Louisville last month and had given them her business card, expressing her desire to work with them sometime in the future. While at the table, they dropped off a cast list for their upcoming feature and asked Cassidy to audition for their upcoming film.

After closing down for the day saturday, it was off to dinner at Old Chicago Pizza with our friends Kayla and her mom and dad, and one of Kayla's fans, Alex and Poppy, and our friends Cory Stringer and Emily Wesley.

Sunday was a quieter day, and a good one for Cassidy to mingle with the stars and meet more. Thanks to Uncle Cherokee Hall of Justus League Films, she met Playboy Model and star of Mountain Mafia, Amy Hayes.

Cassidy roamed the festival part of the time in her clown mask and costume from the Halloween fan film. We were approached by a representative from the Scottsville Haunted Hospital about making an appearance in the suit for photo ops at the haunted attraction. Cassidy will be there October 24. More info to follow.

Thats all for now. We had fun with all of our friends and hope to see YOU at the next festival!

Hell House
Cassidy just finished filming a supporting role in the upcoming feature film, Hell House, from Feathered Italian Films, staring Al Snow. Cassidy plays a neighborhood child who ventures into the local "freak" house with a group of friends and comes face to face with the Butcher. This sets the background for the rest of the story!!

Readng Derby
For those of you who may not know what a reading Derby is, it's like a read a thon that the schools here in Nicholasville do in conjunction with the public library. It is open to all children. They are provided with a list of approved books to read. They are usually classics or newberry honor books, things like that. After the child reads the book, they go online and take a test over the book. They are given about a month to do this, at their own pace. The library tracks the number of books read and the scores on the test. The 4 with the highest scores at the end of the derby go on to compete head to head on May 7th at the public library. We were just informed that Cassidy was one of the finalists, and she is also the ONLY one from her school at Warner to make it! For the finals, which will be jeopardy style, each of the children must read the same 3 books, Beowulf, The Alchemist, and another, which I've forgotten.

This is a great accomplishment and we wish Cassidy luck!!!
